I know this does not answer the question for non-Amazon folks but the internal Amazon metrics portal UI is so functional and dense that it was a joy to use. If someone from AWS Cloudwatch is seeing this, this is a plea to make cloudwatch equally functional and feature rich.

#382I call it Trader UI vs VC UI. Traders want as much info jammed onto the screen as possible. VC backed companies use bootstrap, and want rounded corners on a pricing page with little actual information. Here, here. The only time you notice the air vents in your car is when they're poorly designed, and you can't figure out how to adjust them without looking at them. Nobody ever notices well-designed air vents.

You know, I just took another look at that screenshot and realized it's from a 2012 build. We have added input and output constantly since then... so it's a lot more information dense now lol... probably twice as much "stuff" on screen. I guess it could be considered cluttered now, but I'll take that any day over programs with poor feature discoverability.
We'd love to see updated screenshots if that's possible!

RSVP team members made a great video last November but looks like it never got publicly released. I will check on this on Monday.

As someone who recently tried to use Blender for an extremely simple task... Blender's UI is absolutely terrible and should not be used as an example of anything except how to design an unintuitive UI.
I definitely get that. When I did 3D modeling, my start in Blender was very rough. After I got used to it and did some tutorials it got much easier to navigate. That was probably a decade ago, so I’m sure it’s only gotten more complex since
