I don't know where you are from, but at least in Slovenia if you see someone running for EU parliament you know he is basically retiring from politics. EU parliament has no actual power, EU is basically ran by EC and ECB.

I don't know why people expect EU to be some kind of strong do-it-all central government. Maybe it's a side effect of looking from far away like we look at China. But it was always a loose confederation with members retaining most of the power.

China doesn't give a damn if I criticize them from the EU. Even our politicians are free to criticize them, in contrast to US leaders/oligarchs especially nowadays.

If you're a Chinese expat, they'll reach out to you wherever.

I showed some things that you do not see as the right course of action for the eu, i'm not moving the discussion. I'm genuinely interested in the path you would take regarding defense in europe

It wouldn't be wise for me to further engage with people who's defense to all arguments they don't agree with is accusing people of being pro-Russian[1] or victims of Russian propaganda[1] without any evidence, and then later try to frame it as some form of curiosity on their part in order to absolve themselves of bad faith argumentation and move the accusations towards the other party, a well known technique tabloid reporters use to get a soundbite. It's fine by me if you think whoever you want as pro-Russian, I just don't want to be dragged into it.

chinese expats are heavily under the surveillance of the CCP.

sometimes the CCP requires them to work for it to be spies and they can hardly say no

As a matter of fact, there was evidence - multiple evidences - that lead to the arrest of the Romanian candidate you talked about.

If not believing evidences - multiple ones - is not a proof of being influenced by Russian propaganda, a country that has repeatedly interfered in European affairs, I do not know what would be categorized as being influenced by Russian propaganda. Maybe directly going to Moscow and fighting for Russia?

Anyway, I was genuinely curious about your ideas on European defense, since you don't see many shared values in eu i was intrigued to see the views of someone who doesn't see Europe as more than a merely political one, with no common values
