That is super useful, especially for small stuff in home labs. I was thinking to go ProxMox + Gardener + Kubevirt route, but never have time to work on it.
Oh this is going to be a beast. It depends on what you're trying to achieve though. If you're doing this primarily to learn the kube landscape then it's a great way to play around with these tools in a homelab.

#882I’m selling refurbished and upgraded Mac mini G4s as the ultimate machines for running software for the classic Mac OS over at https://os9.shop Over at macos9lives.com a group of hackers figured out a way to get Mac OS 9 running on these late model G4s that previously never supported it. That combined with an SSD upgrade makes them close to the fastest machines that can run Mac OS 9. I’ve taken advantage of this hack…

#883currently im trying to write more! i have been a fan of several bloggers for years now, but have never had the courage to start myself. hoping to change that this year. i figure writing online would be a fun way to try and start conversations with people who are interested in the same topics. also, hopefully any technical posts can go to show employers that im not just another junior engineer whos reliant on LLMs for…

#885I'm creating an infinite canvas that has all your organization's code and documentation on it. If you zoom in, you can see the code, if you zoom out you see the big picture. By giving everything a place on the map, it becomes easier to figure out your way through the landscape and understand the systems. Different modes can you show you different things: code age, authorship (bus-factor, is the person still with the…
zeitgeist observations regarding this: haystack editor is a neat canvas based IDE codesee recently got acquired by GitKraken (wish they'd sell individual licenses for function maps rather than only for enterprise) Sometimes I wish I could code within an obsidan.MD canvas I think a lot of developers generally want to code on a useful node graph IDE ---- the Gource time travel idea is interesting! Would love to see you…

#888I’ve deleted all my social media apps (including YOU - LinkedIn). I’m trying to really see and feel what’s actually missing in my life and trying to build it. Right now I just want to see what my friends are up to in a non-curated way.
From what I’ve noticed from my friends we all tend to have different addictions. For some it’s YouTube for others Instagram, etc…

Of course it is. Is this controversial anywhere? I would expect surveillance cameras to be regulated in most parts of the world, certainly around Europe. In the Netherlands I believe you need to register such cameras with the local police and you are responsible for following the relevant regulations and data protection laws.
What you are suggesting is basically unenforceable. How would you know what’s in a cameras frame? What do the police do with that register? That sounds like it’s just helpful for them. If it’s only a registration and not an approval process? I don’t think you are responsible for data protection laws… like if it’s a ring, that’s amazons problem. I think this is controversial, because how’s it different from me taking…
What country allows citizens to mount private surveillance cameras in public places without a license?
