Visually, appealing and striking. As an ad, underwhelming. The voiceover was swallowed up by the soundtrack and by the time the source, ChatGPT, had been revealed, the ad was over. Frankly, not an ad that will be the hot topic of Monday morning watercooler conversation.

There are cultural rules to SB ads. You can be striking or funny. Most ads miss.

> Rouch said that “the whole space is learning” but emphasized that “authenticity really matters.”

The dissonance is just wild.

> “This is a celebration of human creativity and an extension of human creativity,” Rouch says, addressing the decision not to use AI-generated content in the final product.

The mental gymnastics! Our product changes everything, except this ad, because we know that people hate inauthenticity in communication.

My statement was “whose logo is a dot or dots?” But someone at my SB party, who isn’t a techy said the same thing you did “isn’t it Cisco?”

> While OpenAI’s text-to-video AI Sora was used during conception to rapidly prototype ideas and explore different camera treatments, the final animation was created entirely by human artists.

The biggest GenAI company in the world, didn’t use GenAI to create the commercial.

Interesting.
