Ask HN: I'm in San Francisco for 36 hours – how can I make the most of my time?

I've got a free flight to SF this week for an onsite interview - what can I do in SF to make connections? What can I do to simply have fun?

#4My son (12) and I had an amazing time in SFO. We’re baseball fanatics and are slowly visiting all of the parks… we caught a few games. One day we walked from South Beach and Oracle Park and walked along the shoreline to the Golden Gate Bridge. Then went through the park and took the bus back from somewhere near Golden Gate Park. We did the cable car and went to Chinatown before heading back. The farmers market at the ferry terminal is awesome too.
Our last day we had a redeye home… we stored our bags at the hotel and took the N line from Caltrain all the way to Ocean Beach. It was beautiful out there, and we spotted some places to check out on the way back.
Honestly, it’s a great city to explore. That was one of my favorite trips. Have fun whatever you do.

I posted a bunch of ideas there.

#9The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment is on the other side of the Bay in Oakland and accessible by BART. Take note that it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
