For the last few years, I've been working on a self-checkout product similar to Mashgin that quickly identifies the items people place on a platform. I've really enjoyed work that involves stereo cameras and lidar, 3D scanning, surface reconstruction, and geometry more generally. I also get a lot of satisfaction from building libraries and other dev tools that make some of the more math-heavy tasks easier for non-experts. For more of a flavor of the kinds of work I especially enjoy, take a look at this article: https://andrews.wiki/spherical-mesh.

I've also been a manager and a tech lead, and I try very hard to establish priorities for my team that are simultaneously good for the product and good for the people who work towards them.

I'm currently looking into robotics companies, but anything that involves perception is welcome.

Looking for a management or team-lead position in product analytics or somewhere in the data tools stack.

My last job was head of analytics at Yandex Travel, where I was responsible for all analytics teams and all things data. Google grade equivalent is L6. I led my team to help grow the service YoY revenue more than 3-fold by building great BI tools and dashboards, systematically mining the data for insights, running experiments and some ML.

10+ YoE total, most of it in software engineering and management.

5 YoE specifically in data science/analytics

I thoroughly enjoy both coding and hands-on work on engineering projects as well as working with people, mentoring/coaching.

I love tinkering with tools, automating boring tasks, and helping people become the best version of themselves.

I can do anything I set my mind to, and have done enough things over the course of a career to justify that statement. I want to do great things for an innovative company, and want to work with teammates interested in the same thing. If you've got something interesting, I'd like to hear about it.

Seeking a senior/staff SWE position; I have some lead experience as a developer, but am also on the board of directors of a nonprofit, which indicates additional leadership experience.

I've had the opportunity to work as a founding engineer at multiple companies, where I've been involved in building and scaling platforms from scratch. At PreFix Inc., I led the backend development of our home maintenance platform, working as the sole backend engineer early on. I played a key role in scaling the customer base, integrating critical systems like Zendesk, Stripe, and HubSpot, and developing our business intelligence platform to enable data-driven decision-making. I also helped expand the engineering team and contributed to major partnerships, including a successful pilot program with a large insurance company, and the many security, privacy and data handling challenges that entails.

Before that, at Ruckit, I was part of the founding team where we developed a collaborative logistics platform that scaled the company to over $2M in monthly revenue. I managed a distributed team of engineers, drove third-party integrations, and helped position the company for acquisition by Command Alkon.

Now it's time for something new. You can checkout my CV/resume linked above for lots more details, and please reach out with any interesting opportunities.
