#2Someone mentioned TwoStopBits[1] in a comment[2] today, and I know there's the original Arc Language forum [3]. I remember seeing one other heavily modified one with a cool dark colourscheme, but I don't remember which.

It's pretty much original. Paul Graham made the Arc programming language, and the forum software / Hacker News on top of that.

Hacker News itself is closed source, but the old `news.arc` code is available under the Artistic License 2.0.
