One of the many reasons. The biggest reason the last place I worked at that did manufacturing was that there were import tariffs on components but not assemblies so they just built the assemblies in China.

#64That chemical court case seems very strong to me, with multiple indipendent parties having measured the gas in the air. (Edit: and multiple government agencies reporting chemical accidents at Apple) So it doesn't seem like she's trigger happy to sue, which would imply that there might also be merit in her other case.
Good thing Apple never had "don't be evil" as their slogan ;)
