Hello, I would generally consider myself a fanatic of security, networking and operating systems. I've worked professionally in Penetration Testing, Software Engineering, and currently DevOps. I've worked on a novel EDR bypass, high throughput data streams for a time series database, and managing complex k8s clusters full of operators. I also work on open source projects outside of work, specifically for the 9front project where I've worked on new security enhancements to the kernel, additions and bug fixes to our compilers, enhancements for our unicode support, and more.

  Location: Philadelphia, PA
  Remote: 99% (1% in-person to glad hand!)
  Willing to relocate: No.
Technologies: Web Infrastructure, GitOps, Python, CI/CD (the real kind), automation, Kubernetes ecosystem (including Cilium, Kyverno, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.), I'd love to work with Elixir or Julia shop. Worked in data centers and cloud-native environments. Tech career started in 1999. Like HashiCorp Vault a lot, but wish OpenBao was more supported. Terraform -> OpenTofu.

  Email: work@boldandbusted.com
I've got a nice profile on LinkedIn, too: https://linkedin.com/in/boldandbusted

I pride myself on being a fan of low-level technologies (I can fix broken DNS setups, I read the Linux Kernel source for better understanding of the kernel, I actually love Gentoo Linux...), but also someone who advises big corporate and startup leaders on how to work better with their computing engineers, and who helps build empathy between silos (like actually bringing Dev and Ops together). Seeking contracts and full-time work, short term, mid-term and long-term.

Cheers, and thanks for this post, Hacker News! :)
