#13Polaron is an Imperial College London spinout [1] using generative AI to transform the material design process. We’re leveraging machine learning to bridge the gap between process (how materials are made) and performance (how materials behave). For example, using our image-based generative AI technology, we designed a Li-ion battery cathode with a 10% increased power density compared to the original design.
We’re building a SaaS platform that enables materials designers to use state-of-the-art AI techniques in their day-to-day work. We’ve just closed our first round of Angel/VC funding, and have just been announced as a finalist of the UK Government’s Manchester Prize [2].
We’re a small team with deep expertise in materials science and AI. We’re looking for software engineers excited about building early-stage tech products to join us in productising our world-leading research [3].
Some of the things on our roadmap you’ll work on include: - Building a robust cloud platform for scheduling the training and serving of bespoke AI models for our customers. - A rich web-based image manipulation application for pre-processing image data that is used to train ML models.
Tech Stack: TypeScript (React / Next.js /Express / Prisma), Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
Apply via our jobs page: https://apply.workable.com/polaron.
If you’d like any more information, please reach out at: careers@polaron.ai.

#14We are a rapid growth health tech company using AI to improve hospital revenue cycle (making healthcare costs lower and allowing doctors to focus on patient care). The current team is very high functioning (MD + data scientist combos, former ASF board member, Google and Amazon engineers, Stanford LLM researchers, etc.) and initially scaled the company to $1MM+ in contracted revenue without raising capital.
We have been backed by top investors including Floodgate (Lyft, Twitch, Twitter), Transformation Capital, and Bessemer for a total of $71mil, including our $50mil Series B announced in May 2024, and are currently on pace to 20-30X in revenue over a two-year time period.
We are looking for: Staff and Senior SWE - Senior and Non-Senior Data Engineers and Scientists - Engineering Managers (SW + Data) - Sales - Several more roles
We have PMF, and it's time to scale! For more and to apply, see https://smarterdx.com/careers

- Have a website showcasing projects you’ve worked on.
- Have built a complex UI component from scratch and are comfortable working on custom Table(), Inspector(), and Plot().
- Have developed custom providers for Monaco Editor and interested to do more of those.
- Have made major contributions to any design system and are interested in creating a better one without Tailwind.
- Possess deep knowledge of modern JS frameworks/libraries (React/Preact/Vue/Solid/Svelte/...) and are not afraid to work without them if needed.
- Have created custom code editor or some other complex UI tool (node based programming / UI editor).
- Have developed a data visualization library (or wrapped some low level tools behind thoughtful API).
- Have built something browser-based using WebGL, shaders, WASM, or worker threads.
- Have created and published plugin for esbuild or Eleventy.
This post would be too long if I included the list of things you might work on, so please reach out to me to get that information.Re: Ask HN: Who is hiring? (June 2024)

It's main features are designed to help save time and improve reporting quality: nodule detection and quantification, nodule tracking over time, quantitative lung tissue analysis for key image findings, and qualitative analysis of 19 image patterns plus reference cases and differential diagnosis information.
We are a small product department with developers, R&D and DevOps folks creating a real product that is running on-premise at many hospitals creating real impact. contextflow is a great place for getting into all things medical software development.
Four open positions (all Full-Time):
* Join my team as a Senior DevOps Engineer (NixOS, Kubernetes, AWS, GitLab, SRE) https://jobs.contextflow.com/jobs/Careers/36410000002069051/...
* Senior Machine Learning Developer (Pytorch, MLOps, "deep learning" on DICOM CT scan Images) https://jobs.contextflow.com/jobs/Careers/36410000001960001/...
* Senior Frontend Developer (React, TypeScript, Elm, Node.js, Golang) https://jobs.contextflow.com/jobs/Careers/36410000002090009/...
* Technical Product Owner (functional lead of our Agile/Scrum teams) https://jobs.contextflow.com/jobs/Careers/36410000002017001/...
Perk if you are eager to work in an environment that is open to utilize sophisticated tools such as Elm, NixOS, Clojure.
Please ensure you are sharing a motivational letter on application.
I personally joined fully-remote in January 2023 as a DevOps Engineer. I really enjoy what we are creating and I am excited to be in a relatively young company to grow with something that is meaningful to me. An environment where everyone is interested on medical aspects has been a refreshing experience.
We look forward to receiving your application!

#20Roboflow is the fastest way to use computer vision in production. We help developers give their software the sense of sight. Our end-to-end platform[1] provides tooling for image collection, annotation, dataset exploration and curation, training, and deployment.
Over 250k engineers (including engineers from 2/3 Fortune 100 companies) build with Roboflow. We now host the largest collection of open source computer vision datasets and pre-trained models[2]. We are pushing forward the CV ecosystem with open source projects like Autodistill[3] and Supervision[4]. And we've built one of the most comprehensive resources for software engineers to learn to use computer vision with our popular blog[5] and YouTube channel[6].
We have several openings available but are primarily looking for strong technical generalists who want to help us democratize computer vision and like to wear many hats and have an outsized impact. Our engineering culture is built on a foundation of autonomy & we don't consider an engineer fully ramped until they can "choose their own loss function". At Roboflow, engineers aren't just responsible for building things but also for helping us figure out what we should build next. We're builders & problem solvers; not just coders. (For this reason we also especially love hiring past and future founders.)
We're currently hiring full-stack engineers for our ML and web platform teams, a web developer to bridge our product and marketing teams, several technical roles on the sales & field engineering teams, and our first applied machine learning researcher to help push forward the state of the art in computer vision.
