Re: My Text Editor Is Not Open Source

I used GNU Emacs for a really, really long time.

A few years ago I moved to switching my time between BBEdit and Nova, both native Mac apps and mg on any of my Linux/OpenBSD machines.

Tonight I started working on a blog post and decided to try writing it in Emacs just for muscle memory. There’s one feature I miss from Emacs that I’ve not seen in other editors: fill. In Emacs I can just reflow a block of text with M-q. I wish I could figure out how to do that in BBEdit from the keyboard without needing to dig into options. I’m sure I can but I haven’t found it yet. Emacs use of uncommon terms for things doesn’t help.

(I even made the cover art for the current Emacs manual in a mix of Inkscape and Emacs.)
