I think that what you omit is important to add: most viewers if virtually almost all of them are young males.
So female streamers, like every streamer, leverage what the viewers are more likely to fall for, in this case, sexualization.

Why is researchers in scare quotes? I just checked, both authors have doctorates and have published papers in this field of study.

Because you don't need to research this to see that it's obviously true and has been true throughout history.
