#13For US numbers, use Tello's basic e-sim: it supports "wifi-calling" i.e. as long as you're connected to the internet, you receive & send calls & texts as if you're in the US, no matter which country you're actually in. Because it's just a normal number, it'll work with WhatsApp.

I have been using Google Project Fi for calls and texts the last 6 years internally. A bit pricey but you don’t need to be on wifi for calls and texts. I also had international data for like 5 years until they cut me off last year.
