I'm a new-ish programmer looking to start game development. The problem is, I have no idea where to start. I really don't like python that much, and can't decide between using C# or C++, I tried downloading C# but [1] this has windows phone emulators, and tools for XBOX and takes up so much space. Is there an installer just for windows? If not c#, should I start with javascript, or c++?

#2It depends on what kind of game dev you want to be; there are plenty of great options. Have more info? do you want to write console games? triple A pc games? mobile games? web games? If you purely want to get the concepts down first, picking any thing would work..
