#6Dating is much simpler: our pretentious minds makes us feel attracted by around 10% of opposite sex figures. If we lower our bar a little (like with alcohol), this goes up to about 30%. Assuming independent probabilities, the likelihood of a match (both him and her liking each other) is at best 0.3 * 0.3, thus about 10%.
My preferred ground of picking up were clubs, there's music, there's alcohol and unlike bars there's dancing so the perfect opportunity to engage in a conversation with the purpose of eventually leading to a date. But armed with the knowledge on probabilities above, I knew it wasn't going to be easy, requiring on average some 10 attempts to get one (in ten) success(es). "Success" defined as collecting a phone number which I can later call to ask her to a date in the city. Which by some reason also had a 50% chance of making it or not to a second date (afterwards the odds of sticking are much higher).
So the most important thing in dating success is persistence. Not the creepy kind, which most men seem to be experts in, if the girl doesn't like you, move on: there's plenty of girls. Statistics eventually run in favor of you.

#8I get that it could get really complicated to do correctly, but even a fast and dirty version could be really interesting.
Perhaps, it might even encourage people to be interested in math.
