#22On Windows, try Altap Salamander. It's free and open-source.

When I was on Windows, I paid for Total Commander. BTW, Altap Salamander is freeware, not open source. It is a decent alternative nonetheless.

#25Shameless plug for my more modern, GUI alternative to Midnight Commander, https://fman.io .

#27I loved using Total Commander back when I used windows. There is nothing like this for the macOS as far as I know.
Give Marta a shot. It gives Total Commander a run for its money imo. Free. https://marta.sh/
But then I noticed that it is not open source, the sole developer has been on a break for at least a year, and the issue tracker mentions two bugs that may lead to data loss.
So I uninstalled it. I will look elsewhere for now.

#29Marta doesn't seem to be actively developed anymore, so if anyone know of a good alternative I am all ears. fman (https:/fman.io) looks nice, but I don't think it has terminal integration.
