The company’s founders, Dustin Moskovitz and Justin Rosenstein, are contemptuous of their users. They insist we use the product exactly how they think we should – no matter how inconvenient it is for me and the thousands of others who complain. They don't believe in good UI and UX – so I'm finally ditching the product.

That's not really the founders, it's our ubiquitous PM Culture (for lack of a better word) at work. Look at the Goog or MS, always arbitrarily changing UIs to "increase engagement" or simply to show the PMs are hard at work.
