This is one of the subjects that I upset about. How did it get so bad? How can we fix it?

I’ve tried DuckDuckGo but it fails due to spam too.

I think the only viable option in the next 5 years in a good LLM with a user (or community crowd-sourced) library on RAG. Ideally with privacy and local hosting options. I want to make “my library” (choosing which archives to trust as authoritative) and then put a good search interface over it. It’s totally possible now!

Any other takes on solutions? Anyone building what I describe?

I hate to be that guy in every HN thread on the subject, but the solution is the Kagi search engine.

I like how a webpage about technology getting worse has text too small to read on images you can't zoom (but tapping on it uselessly display the same image in some kind of picture carousel), and randomly ask me to tap a button looking like a link to "continue reading" instead of loading the whole page at once.
