SEEKING WORK | Montreal, Remote | Technical writer, freelance

Hi! Do you need engaging, useful technical content but not a full-time tech writer?

That amazing thing you're building--I can show people how to use it. I'm a tech writer with extensive experience in documenting complex systems for demanding technical and non-technical users. And I've helped documentation teams to write more and fuss less by implementing process improvements and automation.

Recent projects: Technical blogging, ghost writing, and user documentation for SaaS platforms, embedded software development tools, distributed radiology workflow systems, machine learning, and open source software.

SEEKING WORK | Cambridge, UK | Remote preferred (occasional travel OK)

I have over 20 years’ experience building software, specialising in:

• Technical applications (mathematical, scientific, engineering)

• Software for hardware (IoT, embedded, lab equipment)

• Interesting presentation (custom UIs, data viz, multimedia/video)

My target market is start-ups/scale-ups/SMEs needing immediate help with either hands-on development work or strategic advice, technical design, etc.

For small to medium applications — such as an MVP for a startup, a UI for a hardware product, or implementing mathematical models and visualisations for researchers — I can offer a fully outsourced development service if required.

I can also join an existing team temporarily to give a short-term boost, perhaps helping with a challenging project or co-ordinating a larger initiative across teams. This can include a training/mentoring element if you need to upskill quickly.

Every project is different and will be treated as such, but recently I’ve been favouring TypeScript or Python for web development (with React or Vue for UI work) and Python, C++ or Haskell for more technical or hardware-related work. I have experience with a wide range of target platforms from AWS to embedded ARM.

If you have a project that I may be able to help you with, you’re welcome to get in touch. My contact details are in my profile.

Hi, I've helped several "startups" get off the ground, because I'm good at creating rapid prototypes that scale to production, and I like solving big problems, with contributions based on informed imagination. I've experimented a lot with AI, the practical type that doesn't require deep re$earch. I'd like to find a funded trial balloon type startup, where I can be a hands-on technologist for ideation, full stack software. I'm particularly interested in projects that succeed by doing what closed companies can't. Currently ET but soon to be PT, you can reach me at vid_hn@zooid.org. Thanks for your consideration!

SEEKING WORK | Portland, OR | Remote

I'm David, a programmer with over 20 years' experience. Most of my career has been back-end focused, and that's where I'm at my best, but I can get things done across a full stack.

I like to solve problems with code. Most recently I've been working in Python and Rust, but over the years I've also done tons of work in C, Perl, Clojure, Go, Ruby and more.

I particularly enjoy the challenge of working with legacy systems; if you need someone on hand to troubleshoot and maintain (or even migrate away from!) an abandoned-but-still-important system, maybe I can help.

Currently looking to fill roughly 5 hours/week.

Contact in my bio. Hope to hear from you soon :)
