Show HN: DarkGen – Create deepfake videos of anyone • Hacker News Board

This is frighteningly good. Not quiiiiiite good enough to pass for an actual video of the person - the audio's a bit off, the video is ever so slightly out of sync - but a few generations more and we'll be there.

I wonder if there's a "happy" (dare I use that term) sweet spot for deepfakes in our world -- they're just good enough to get you to chuckle ("Hi I'm Barack Obama and I'm wishing you, John Smith, a very happy birthday!") but not so good that anyone thinks it's actually him.

What's the tech stack? Insightface? Also, this seems like it'll be taken down soon by some cease and desist.

It's a custom model I trained.

I'm currently training the next model I think this next one looks much harder to tell.

I think there is a pretty terrible bug. I just bought some credits to try it out but they are not showing up at all. The money was deducted from my balance though.
