In theory, a significant group of senior researchers has agreed to resign. Additionally, investors have threatened a lawsuit and Microsoft has said they'll withhold cloud computing credits.

The one thing the internet loves: drama and IRL narratives with twists and turns.

Even when this story is mostly over we're going to have journo thinkpieces out of our ears.

Sounds like the deadline got moved to a game of chicken.
