- Cant be a personal scandal, press release would be worded much more differently - Board is mostly independent and those independent dont have equity - They talk about not being candid - this is legalese for “lying” The only major thing that could warrant something like this is Sam going behind the boards back to make a decision (or make progress on a decision) that is misaligned with the Charter. Thats the only fir…

Doesn’t make any sense. He is ideologically driven - why would he risk a once in a lifetime opportunity for a mere sale? Desperate times calls for desperate measures. This is a swift way for OpenAI to shield the business from something which is a PR disaster, probably something which would make Sam persona non grata in any business context.

> He is ideologically driven

Is that actually confirmed? What has he done to make that a true statement? Is he not just an investor? He seems pretty egoist like every other Silicon Valley venture capitalist and executive.

Can't say I saw this coming. This is deeply sad to me. OpenAI did so much life changing work so quickly. It has totally changed my life in terms of enabling an absolutely unprecedented increase in my own personal productivity and how ambitious I can be with my projects. And even though I know Sam didn't personally code the key things, I believe that it never would have happened the way it did without his instincts an…

Especially given how people regarded AI when OpenAI started. This was right after the chat bot boom when nobody could get a decent text response right and trying for AGI was seen as a waste of time. People were laughing at Sam. To his face. And he kept going. OpenAI has changed the trajectory of humanity and consciousness. OpenAI needs to explain what is going on immediately.

Do these people type all lowercase on purpose? Is it a power move/status thing? I'd have to go out of my way to type like that, on mobile or at a workstation.

I assume it's on purpose. It certainly is when I do it, because I have to keep overriding autocorrect's insistence that I type like a grown up.

though maybe they're just typing from a computer and there's no autocorrect to get in the way. even then, i have to override my own instinct

I do it sometimes when I don't feel like using my pinkies to hit shift. This happens more often on laptops where the keys are flat.

Speed. The fact he even decided to Tweet/Xeet during a period of personal and professional upheaval is notable on its own. I’m cool adding in my own capitalization as needed. Or maybe I could past it in ChatGPT!

Too soon?
