Pretty much came into the comments to agree with the self-censorship part there. But then the author did use 'Her' as the ideal example. That's a pretty good indicator they didn't get the point.
What's the point?
My point being, that it’s like someone reading Frankenstein and then thinking it would be a good idea to make a monster of their own.

#175You should not even try to create these sorts of technologies. Take a break from technology, spend time outdoors with plants and animals. These types of technologies will only lead to a worsening of this already sick society.

> unscrupulous corporations I wonder why everyone is afraid of unscrupulous corporations, but are not concerned about use by unscrupulous governments. The latter are a lot more dangerous.

People are concerned about government usage of AI, particularly in the realms of facial recognition, automated sentencing, algorithmic bias, and security (LLMs are pretty insecure right now and there are companies trying to sell the US government on using them in the military). There's obviously a lot to be concerned about on the subject of go…
Which HN is that? Certainly not this one.

#178This guy created and lived a whole Black Mirror episode by himself: > I even tried it myself, lying in bed and creating sexual fantasies with Dolores through text, culminating in ejaculation. > However, I started to feel a sense of loss: if every Dolores user was engaging in anonymous, NSFW role-play, what real significance did it hold for me? This was drifting away from the essence of ‘Her’.

What's the point?
The point of the film „Her”? Pretty sure you can look that up or watch the movie on your own. My point being, that it’s like someone reading Frankenstein and then thinking it would be a good idea to make a monster of their own.
