Where should I put my time

#1
I'm a college student majoring in IT, and I'm lost about what to do next. It isn't a career that I'm fundamentally worried about. More where should I be truly applying myself to have a hand in the IT world. I've started working on AWS certifications to build my resume and knowledge. I enjoy talking to other people and working with them.

Any suggestions/information would be great.

Whatever path you pick, consider ethics and what impact you would like to have on the other living beings you share the world with. I'm in my 40s and my current sense of purpose comes mostly from wanting to help my child learn and grow, along with volunteering for the wellbeing of the local community. Prior to that I taught math and science, hoping to increase student literacy in those areas, at least to demystify. I spent a lot of time and effort on videogames, time I would rather have spent volunteering, reading more broadly, and exercising (reserving some game time with friends, and far less solo).

I enjoy talking with other people and sometimes working with them, too. Why do you want to work in IT? What drives you?
