What are you talking about? I remember everyone who was at my wedding.

So? I didn't assert that you wouldn't remember, I asserted that in a large party the host cannot meaningfully engage with everyone.

You had a large number of guests and meaningfully engaged with all of them?

Not to defend hedge funds, but what does it have to do with them? DeBeers is a privately owned corporation

>On 4 November 2011, Anglo American plc and CHL Holdings announced their agreement for Anglo American to acquire an incremental interest in De Beers, increasing Anglo American's 45% shareholding in the world's leading diamond company to 85%. Anglo American is publicly traded with all it entails.

Ah, my mistake

> Looking for a woman which doesn't have irrationality? Well, good luck with that! ;) [1] > Nobody is perfect, and when choosing a life partner, you will also need to accept things that you might not like that much, but are still very small compared to all the things you do like. The casual misogynism [1] doesn't really add anything to the useful idea presented later in your comment.

I find myself increasingly alienated from the crowd here because of the daily misogyny, but I interpreted this more as "we are all irrational creatures."

Hard times for male feminists. The lies are crumbling.

The diamond industry has a terrible problem. They promoted diamonds as "perfection". The most valuable diamond is supposed to be a crystal with no flaws. Then they ran into the semiconductor materials industry. Wafer fabs want every atom where it is supposed to be. So semiconductor materials manufacturers are very good at making crystals with few or no flaws. So, now the synthetic diamond market looks like this.[1] D…

That first link makes me want to buy some 1 carat CVDs to play around with. I mean at those prices, making my own diamond chandelier isn't too out of the question.

For projects like that I can heartily recommend looking at cubic zirconia too. It's wildly cheaper and arguably prettier.

I did not state a definite answer, they did. So they should be able to back it up. Also, it’s possible to prove some negatives. Mostly though the definitions of terms.

If the good and the evil are encoded in human genes, then we should kill all bad people and all problems in the world will be solved.

That’s hardly the only option, still…

Let’s assume we could kill off all the sociopaths, your point is?

I guess that works for most men. Personally, one of my criteria is that she can't want a diamond, that might sound crazy but I want a partner in life that is financially sensible and fiscally responsible, we have to leave our children with more than we were left with or we have failed, that is a core part of my philosophy of family building. Thankfully I found her. I also had a talk with her dad about it after I met…

Having children is not financially nor fiscally sensible. And it's also bad for the environment.

oh okay bro not gonna have kids now thanks for the heads up!!

There are a lot of diamond mines, many in Canada, a number in Australia, there are a number that are mobile marine based ventures with state of the art ships sucking in sediments and sifting for diamonds. https://edition.cnn.com/2018/09/03/africa/marine-diamond-min... None of your comments applies to any of the mines mentioned; Canada, Australia, and the marine operations all abide by OSHA regulations and pay good wa…

If you think that just because a mine isn't in Africa that means it's a good place to work then I disagree

oh no my pretty rock came from somewhere where people had to work hard :(

Do you, uh... want to explain? It's definitely a cringy, antiquated phrase, but it doesn't seem harmful. People with wives should tie their own happiness to their wife's, shouldn't they?

> People with wives should tie their own happiness to their wife's, shouldn't they? I think it's more that the expectation that husbands exist to serve their wives is harmful. Be honest, do you really think a phrase meaning "keeping your husband happy and satisfied would make your life better" is not harmful?

what the heck is harmful about that?
