I am a project manager and developer with more than six years of experience in the spaces of hybrid and electric vehicles, autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems, and streaming video on demand. I've worked on Level 2 ADAS systems (Super Cruise at GM), Level 4/5 automated driving systems, vehicle electrical systems and architecture (low and high voltage), vehicle energy storage systems, and embedded programming for automotive and set-top box applications. My master's thesis was on active stereo vision systems. I'm a jack of all trades, highly adaptable, and quick to learn.

Available immediately for full-time work.

I'm a mid-level generalist software engineer who has spent the last year doing full-stack web development with Google Maps APIs and the 3 years before that doing low-level C on a compiler/database at a startup. Prior to that, I was a grad student at Penn State who dropped out a class short of a masters. I'm always looking to broaden my skillset and learn new technologies.

I'm currently employed as an independent contractor (1099) and would like to either add additional 1099 clients or go full time for the right opportunity. If desired, I'd also be open to setting up a corporation and taking on C2C work.

I am a software developer currently working in the telecommunications industry, but I am eager to explore new opportunities and expand my horizons. Although my primary interests are in network programming and game development, I am open to other challenges if they give me an opportunity to grow and develop myself as a programmer. My interests are diverse, as showcased by my portfolio of personal projects, which can be found at https://theshoemaker.de/projects. Generally though, I am mostly interested in systems programming roles.

I've got years of experience leading user research for innovation and design alongside building my own web apps (semiform.ai, weejur.com, and others). I'm interested in product strategy opportunities at companies who would appreciate a product-minded person who knows how to code and has shipped his own projects including back-end, front-end, design, etc.

You can find my contact info and more of my projects at [username] dot com.
