Author is not the distributor of the image.
Third party site asks user's browser to request an image from the author. User requests an image from the author. Author says "sure thing", distributes an image of goatse to the user.
Author says "sure thing" and instructs the user's browser to request an image of goatse from someone else. User's browser does so then displays the image to the user.

Definitely feels like a "report this website to google" button would be fantastic, if there was a way to automate/simplify such a thing for 1-3 clicks.

Google won’t fix this, they actively profit from the theft sites because Google is the one selling the ads on those pages. Break them up.
As I mentioned elsewhere in this thread, filing DMCA notices with Google does take care of it.

So stealing the app is OK but doing something about it is illegal? Sounds like the law all right.
Could've made it a picture of a middle finger or whatever. Same message, but not at the risk of breaking obscenity law. That's not to say that Goatse wasn't the correct option in this case.
I'd say that regardless of what you do (aside from just blocking framing) you are likely to fall afoul of some UK law.
Fun fact: UK law exists only to make sure that every person in the UK is guilty of something by the time they reach adulthood. It serves no other purpose.

#268When I lived in Melbourne, I found someone's car with GOATSE as the personalised licence plate and of course took a photo. This was only about 10 years ago. I've got the photo still. It was a fantastic rude word filter reach-around against the registration office, so to speak.
