#14I've found the issue isnt high performing engineers, they're gonna get paid. The issue is middling engineers and junior engineers where before they would expect a 130k-150k salary in a tier 1 city, those offers are gone.
I don't know how the folks just starting out are finding jobs. Seems like no one wants to hire juniors anymore unless it's for pennies and they can work you to the bone.
Some people figure it out.
Contract, make an LLC for more contracting, call that LLC experience, interview as senior engineer.

#18Not too long ago that was lesser than SWE? I know plenty of certificate chasing cybersecurity professionals that can barely keep $100,000
