I'm looking for a timetable app for Linux to keep track of my school schedule (five days, 8 periods, including lunch breaks).
Any suggestions?

Planner/Planify is an all-around decent to-do list/calendar app, kinda like Things for MacOS.
From there, you could also check out GNOME and KDE's default calendar apps to see if either of those do anything for you. Finally, if you want all the features (and a less-maintained app) then Evolution is the old GNOME groupware app that does scheduling really well.

#3Do you have alternating A/B days or a straight five day schedule? I’ve struggled to find a good way to handle the A/B day mess and ended up just scripting it each year.

What do you mean by A/B days?
Some school schedules are done so classes meet every-other-day. There are A days and B days, which is specified because certain holidays or exam periods might necessitate a break in the sequence.
Schools are often cute with it; they theme the days with their school colors instead of A/B.

#6Assuming that the timetable stays static throughout the year, create a document (using LibreOffice Write, Pages, Docs, Word or whatever it is that's available), insert a 8×5 table, and populate it.
Cannot possibly be more straightforward than that.
Pro tip: share it with your classmates!
PS: why do you need an "app"? Do you need to tag homework/reading schedule to it?

I use Planner/Planify and it's a great option. Simple yet powerful.

Yes, we do this, every time there's a holiday/PA Day, the days are pushed forward, so students won't miss that day.

No, it's just that I frequently loose physical paper, and just like the digital experince overall.
