Google parent Alphabet owned Waymo too has reportedly filed similar H1B applications to hire engineers.
The article fails to mention and actual H1B requests by the others, just lumps them in with the layoffs.

#10For H1B don't they have to show that they are paying at least market rate? And isn't it a factor in awarding the visa?
