Felt | Frontend Engineer | Oakland, CA or REMOTE (US timezones) | Full Time | https://felt.com

Felt is the best way to make maps on the internet. It's surprisingly hard to make a map today, and people in 15+ industries rely on them to do their jobs. Climate change and the resulting natural disasters are forcing even more people to become map-makers, and Felt is here to meet that need. It's the first easy-to-use collaborative mapping software, founded by a team of technologists with a proven track-record. My co-founder and CEO, Sam, is a former YC founder who sold his previous company [1] and I'm an early Uber engineer.

We are on the lookout for our next frontend engineers. At this role, you will help build our beautiful interactive mapping front-end, pushing the boundaries of what's possible on an infinite canvas. Ideal candidates will have experience with Canvas, WebGL and other web graphics technologies, comfortable with complex UIs that work in multiplayer settings. Feel free to check out our blog on some of our work [2][3] and see if this excites you.

We are well-funded and and you can read more about it our funding here [4], and our announcement here [5]. Our terms are employee-friendly terms such as early exercise, a 10-year exercise window and even a matching 401(k).[6]

If you are an experienced frontend engineer, please reach out via hello@felt.com and mention HN!

Kanary | Backend Engineering Lead | Seattle, Remote (US or Canada) PST Preferred | Comp Estimate: $150k base + 3% Equity

We’re using large scale browser automation and LLMs to scrub your private info (home address, phone number, emails) off the public internet.

We’re a team of 5, backed by top pre-seed VCs like YC and 2048 and privacy leaders like Mozilla. 2 years since our first raise, we’re funded by our customers.

Titles at our stage don’t matter much. We’re looking for a strong engineer to help grow the product and the team as we respond to rapid customer growth. The most challenging work at Kanary is backend development. You’ll own projects like:

- experiment with novel approaches for anonymously traversing the web (captcha solving, browser fingerprinting, residential IPs). Embrace the cat and mouse game of working against the bad guys. - performance engineering - identify and implement optimizations across application code (API, serializers, data models), database and deployment configuration. We use python and django on our backend. - minimize QA time and code repetition by working with generative models and extending our templating language using Go.

Compensation depends on experience and potential but we aim to be fair and competitive with equity and salary. If this sounds like fun, reach out to our founder, rachel[at]kanary.com.

Please format your subject with “HN” in the title for a faster response :)
