It is almost impossible to find nice .com domains, most of them are either being used or resold. So I don’t see any impact.

I'm fine with an individual holding a handful of unused domains, but the legislation should eliminate anyone holding domains as their primary source of income.

You are mixing domain registration with shared hosting. Did you ever have a problem with domain registration?
I have. I bought a great name from them, after which they voided the purchase and made it a $1,500 premium domain. Obviously, I will never buy domains from Namecheap again.

That's on the registry, not the registrar. Point your anger at whoever owns that TLD.

#1109% for Namecheap, maybe. Verisign is only allowed to raise prices 7% per year at the moment.
