Marques Brownlee recently drove one of these for his Auto Focus channel [0] 0-200mph in 10 seconds…crazy stuff. It feels quite apt that Rimac is now part of Bugatti given this seems like the electric equivalent of the Chiron. [0] https://youtu.be/sF9xYtouZjY?si=fuq6JB3bLM-g3p95

I particularly liked how he described the way the brakes work in every hybrid and electric car ever made as "clever".

He’s not a car guy, so him expanding into this space is new for him.

Same for when he tries to talk about gaming and only tries games like NBA or a race game.

Not in the “article”: - who held the record this far with what time - what’s the non-EV record

Previous EV record was the Porsche Taycan Turbo S with 7:33.3.

Non-EV record is held by the Mercedes-AMG One with 6:30.7.

Almost certainly arranged as a marketing thing from Bugatti, gotta make the 2mio+ cars cool to the important 12-25 consumer "tech" crowd for reasons.

> The Nevera is clearly grip limited, otherwise it could go much faster.

A sane human being not covered in armor like this pilot would do a fraction of that speed. And it'd be scary enough. 250 is scary enough. Did it once and won't ever try it again.

At 250 most things want to fly and if they aren't really well designed to stay on the ground they may do just that.

I think Bugatti is part of Rimac, not the other way around.

Yes, this is how marketing works. Brands try to expand the appeal of their products beyond their existing user base.
