FWIW the Firefox address bar also searches your history and bookmarks, so you can still retrieve those sites by searching for them without keeping a tab open for each one. Feel free to do what you like, obviously, but if having a zillion tabs open is causing you problems, know that there are other solutions :)

Extensions can have a measurable effect on the benchmark, be sure both browsers have no extension, or the same extensions with the same configuration.

Same here. It's simply a convenient way to work with a browser.

Tree Style Tabs would be so great if it had folders/nodes for categories of tabs. My workaround are tabs with fittingly named Wikipedia articles, but a builtin feature would be more pleasant to use.

It would be really bad if everyone used Firefox - just as it would be very bad if everyone used Chrome (or even any other browser based on the same rendering engine).

We all absolutely do benefit greatly from having multiple competing browsers and render engines - regardless of which one we individually prefer to use.

Therefore I really don't understand the many, many, many "my-browser-is-better-than-yours-you-should-switch" comments in this thread here. Why's everyone trying to convince everyone else that they should use the one and only "best" browser too? What for?

Are people truly that desperate for confirmation and validation, that they need others to agree on their choice of browser?

Just curious, what does that UI look like with 1,000 tabs open? Isn't it just like, one pixel per tab, or a scrollbar 50 times wider than your monitor? Is that actually useful?
