Reminds me of the famous double feature in Japan: Grave of the Fireflies and My Neighbor Totoro. Totoro was paired with Grave because Totoro was considered a risk, Grave being an historical picture.

I think my amygdala would have melted if I watched those movies back to back.

The film industry needs as much help as it can get at the moment, all studios have been hit with massive flops this summer. After the Flash, on track to lose at least $200million, Warner need Barbie to be a hit, so this bizarre double header is a way for Warner and Universal to get some positive buzz going for their films. Both of the are tracking to do well, and they didn't cost too much to make like the Flash or Dial of Destiny, so their break even is at a much lower gross.

Yeah that’s … quite … the double feature. I wonder what they showed first - GotF being second would be quite the surprise after totoro.

GotF is literally one of the most sad movies I have ever seen, for those who have not watched it.

The mega producers might have had a worse year, but the film industry as a whole is fine. And if you want to help someone, help smaller independent films by attending your local film festivals instead of mass produced crap. Who cares if the 78th comic book movie flopped.

Or maybe these studios need to stop making stupid movies that nobody cares about anymore. Flash? Seriously?

Promote actual movies a little more rather than spending hundreds of millions on dumb movies and leaving no room for real cinema.

I'm reminded of that time The Wiggles opened for Rammstein ..
