I've lead large projects and have been on 4-man startups all the way to huge companies such as JPMorgan Chase. I can wear many hats and have taken a project from bullet points to production.

Location: Austin, TX Remote: No Willing to relocate: Yes Technologies: economist, predictive mathematics, Python, C/C++/Java, distributed systems Résumé/CV: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-nahas-1012232/ Email: hackernews@mike.nahasmail.com

Designer of Par2 (and Par3) file format.

I got a Masters in CS. I designed and coded low-latency distributed trading systems for hedge funds. Was employee #7 for a successful startup. I predicted stocks for a hedge fund and made more money. I retired for a few years. I got a Masters in Economics. I've been analyzing housing prices for a non-profit in Austin, TX, trying to lower rents. Now looking for work again.

My "secret sauce" is being able to understand a problem, find the realm of mathematics that applies to it, and then use that math in code to solve it.

My ideal job would use my knowledge of econ and require me to deliver code.

Hi, I'm Jason - currently a research software engineer after completing a PhD with a focus in neuroimaging. My work and research has primarily been focused on engineering reproducible data processing pipelines to analyze large brain imaging datasets using various statistical and machine learning techniques. I enjoy working in collaborative, cross-functional teams where I can share my knowledge and learn new skills. I am seeking a new role where I can leverage my experience for solving complex problems and would allow me to relocate to NYC. Looking forward to connecting and discussing potential opportunities!
