I have farmed out work to Turks and tried to "go native" as a Turk and found I couldn't find HITs I could bear to do. I'm pretty sure he's referring to https://www.mturk.com/worker, the name of which is itself a reference to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_Turk
