> Musk is aligned with Putin in other important ways. Both have been heavily promoting traditionalism, hierarchy, and patriarchy. I would be ashamed to recommend an article with such a level of stupid generalization. There are a million people who could be filled in for the $Musk variable. So this isn’t a statement other than “I don’t like Musk so I’m saying he is like Putin.” The author of this article heavily promo…

#22And who was protecting it from the mass fabrication and censorship prior?
Who's protecting it now?
Or were you under the impression that Twitter became a bastion of free speech and truth after Musk took over?
Twitter still complies with government censorship requests[0]. The "blue check" system has become a farce[1].
Misinformation and hate speech have skyrocketed after Twitter stopped policing it and started unbanning and promoting right-wing content[2..4].
And oh yeah, all that corruption and evildoing exposed by the Twitter Files? Twitter's own lawyers admit it was all bullshit[5].

#24The amount of bullshit in this article is beyond the dirrhea I had last time i visited South America
They think because Musk is rich his actions must be part of some kind of 5d chess game. He can't just fall for the same shit normal people fall for.
Rich people are just people with a lot of money. Their brains are not different from our brains. Rich people fall for bullshit ideologies and join cults, develop mental illness, engage in petty vindictive behavior, get addicted to things, and so on.
I have been in this culture (and on HN) for a very long time. I watched the whole alt-right / gamergate / neoreaction wave sweep through the community and indoctrinate huge numbers of people. Musk's conversion to it isn't all that surprising, especially given his well documented problems with long term relationships and possibly being "on the spectrum." New right ideology is really well crafted to hook into male insecurity.
... and yes, a billionaire can be insecure. Same homo sapiens brain we have, folks. (Unless you are a sentient AI.)

Can you please review https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html and use this site as intended? We have to ban accounts that post like you have in this thread—not because we disagree with you but because we're trying to have an internet forum that doesn't burn itself to a crisp.
PS. I'd like to edit/delete it but I can't now.
