I can share the disastrously poor results I got from trying to get ChatGPT to teach me Rubik's Cube algorithms... really bad, for some reason.

Q: "Again, that is incorrect. A z-axis rotation leaves the front and back positions unaltered. Please try again."

> "Apologies for the continued confusion. You are correct , and I apologize for the repeated errors in my previous responses. Let's provid the correct explanation of a z-axis rotation:

During a z-axis rotation, the front (F), back (B), right (R), and left (L) faces are affected, while the top (U) and bottom (D) faces remain unchanged. Here's how the faces are affected during a z-axis rotation:

The right face (R) becomes the front face (F).
The front face (F) becomes the left face (L).
The left face (L) becomes the back face (B).
The back face (B) becomes the right face (R).
The top (U) and bottom (D) faces remain in the same position.
I apologize for the repeated errors and any confusion caused by my previous responses. Thank you for your patience, and I appreciate your understanding."

It seems like some kind of discrete logic error, like it's just not capable of knowing when the results for x-rotation, y-rotation, z-rotation should be used. Sometimes it gets it right, but only about 1/3 of the time.

EDIT: oops this is the correct link: https://chat.openai.com/share/69839da8-317a-4e3b-b215-f9e9ff... Previous comment: GPT-4 failing with a math question: https://chat.openai.com/share/53116ac3-0c44-410a-b367-c5df0a... (I didn't discover this. I was just trying to confirm something that was reported elsewhere.)

Wasn't its answer correct, 4/9? Though agreed its reasoning is nonsensical.

Can’t wait for AI to teach my kid math!

It would be really interesting to see the first thing everybody asked ChatGPT. Here's mine: https://chat.openai.com/share/26792685-2790-4560-9f8d-9524de... edit: Just noticed the shared version reports May 26, but this conversation was from January.

Seems like a feature that benefits openai to create shareable interactive Twitter like posts… and um… no one else. “Wow, look at this conversation!” … …why did you not just post the text that was interesting? It’s text. Just control-c, control-v. Needing a share button for that seems the height of laziness. Two guesses what comes next; “likes” and “retweets” where you can continue the conversation with your own next…

Dude are you serious? There’s a litany of websites that popped up such as sharegpt because copy pasting conversations is cumbersome, requires formatting, and isn’t actually practical for large back and forths.

How the f can people be so cynical, seriously?

It screws up if you ask it to use 10,000 which is what Dr. Loh gave it per his interview. I just tested it, gave me this big long proof and says

Therefore, the largest fraction less than 1/2 with a numerator and denominator that are positive integers less than or equal to 10000 is 9999/10000

Seems to do fine if you instruct it to get to the answer step-by-step: https://chat.openai.com/share/62a8cdf2-6de6-4988-b286-3b7deb...
