You're totally right that lawyers want to live in Word. In the MVP version of the product, we tried to get everyone into the web app. Some people loved it, but we hit a brick wall whenever someone needed to go to Word. We've since added native export to Word at every step in the contract lifecycle. We as a small SaaS selling into large companies and Bonterms has made negotiating what previously took months into a few days. The customers legal team agreeing to using this format is the most complicated. We just mention that most real estate deals are negotiated on standard paperwork with an overriding cover page - and so do we. Works amazingly well.

Custom negotiated contracts (including NDAs), custom billing terms (although this is harder to segment on), advanced team management features that allow separate parts of an organization to use your tool (think sub-team management w/ individual admins and configurable visibility between teams).

I really like the fact that templates are available on GitHub: https://github.com/CommonPaper

I cofounded a company that develop and sells an OpenSource software and it's a huge pain to write the contract. It's also costly... as I don't trust myself to write a contract and ask a lawyer to do it...

I see that templates are more for cloud based offering but that would be great to extend this to on-premise contrat too. I would be happy to contribute.

As far as I can tell there is no information provided about what information security measures are in place to protect this hugely juicy target full of commercially sensitive info, and an explicit disclaimer saying "hey folks we offer no guarantees about reliability, uptime or whether we'll disappear in a puff of smoke with all your contracts." Bit worrying

There has been an effort to standardize MNDAs with oneNDA (https://onenda.org/), at least in tech and I've seen it work well for SaaS deals. I think they also released oneDPA but I haven't used it yet to understand if it accepted or not.

I wish more companies would use standard contracts, definitely helpful for smaller orgs with non-existen or very small legal teams. Now we just need them to be well accepted...
