With remote work, there are many startups hiring globally in different countries. They typically use Deel (and other Employer of Records like Pilot, Remote), but these services can be pretty expensive as you grow to 5+ employees with 600/mo/pp (or $36k/yr). It's also hard to offer those employees great benefits or equity, especially if you hire them as contractors.

The other alternative is to set up your own entity, but that can be operationally complex and involved many moving pieces (e.g., laywers, accountants, compliance, banks, etc).

At Siva, we have launched a solution to help your startup expand to Canada at significantly lower costs than an EOR. We hope to become the one stop solution for everything a startup would need to expand to Canada (and other countries in the future): incorporation, bank accounts, accounting, compliance, and benefits.

In this blog post, we talk about the differences between using an EOR vs owning an entity in Canada - would appreciate any thoughts / feedback if this has been a pain point or if we can help you expand to Canada.
