The "arguing" is weird, but I'll note that I've had very similar conversations with ChatGPT where it hallucinated options to commands, gave them wrong meanings, "corrected" itself in a further wrong direction, etc.

It really seems to depend on the subject matter.

I bet we'll eventually see more specialized AIs that are really only good within their subject matter domain.

Have you tried phind.com? Besides Codeium (vscode extension) this is my goto for code questions. They have some magic sauce, always better than bing, sometimes I go back to gpt4 just to say hey, and for times where i want to save a thread...

My hunch is that they combine it with some kind of web crawl and index for source reference, I've used both gpt4 and phind, and find phind better for tasks like api exploration and questions for typical sample programs and error messages for that reason.

Bard is no where near ChatGPT quality. Not even GPT-3.5. My test was to translate lines of Korean text. The prompt is simple. "Translate these sentences from Korean to English: ". ChatGPT works all the time. Quality isn't great but it works. Bard, on the other hand, gets confused. It simply repeats the Korean text. I need to prompt it again - "I asked for a translation". And then it starts to work correctly.

That’s funny given that OpenAI architecture GPTs, even LLaMA-7B, just do it right even language specification is wrong or reversed(they don’t care the exact letter of instruction asks to translate a piece from a language or to a language!)

I finally tried it yesterday after using chatgpt for the last few months for help with languages (human and otherwise).

Prompt: can you test me to determine what my spanish level is?

It gave a very convincing response to the kinds of things it would ask (I can't figure out how to get the exact results back in the history like you can with chatgpt). At the end, it said to hit enter on the prompt to get started. I didn't know what it meant so I told it to proceed with the test. The next answer was basically "I'm still learning languages and I can't do that yet".

Today I tried the same prompt again with the hope I could get the exact output for this reply. This time is asked me 5 questions with both the spanish and english translations and told me once I answered the questions it could tell me my level. I'm not even going to go into how WTF that is.

Bard seems to be a LONG WAY from being ready for prime time.

As for bing, I only tried it once and didn't get the results I needed. Is it legit using chatgpt so i should get the same results in both? I guess I need to experiment more with it.

Probably not available anywhere but the US. Maybe UK.

It wasn't opened in MX until their expo but working here now. I think the EU countries just scare google because they keep getting sued for violating their data protection laws
