YouTube Premium is one of the very few subscription services I use. It's easily worth it. Browsing through the universe of random YouTube videos about the various quirky hobbies I'm into is immensely enjoyable, and I appreciate that at least some of my money goes to the video creators.

#143I don't think it's particularly wise to browse the internet without an ad blocker anymore.
If a site decides to go so far as to actively prevent you from using it without an adblocker, I consider that to be a pretty bad sign.
Fortunately almost no one does that.

I have YT premium and it is easily the best money I spend most months. I'll just play devil's advocate. Maybe people are imagining a pay per view type of experience?

Patreon is also Pay-what-you-want, so whales can subsidize lower tiers, and folks can often pay less than $15 per month.

I don't run an adblocker on my phone, YouTube Music is included and the creators still get paid.
Creators get paid MORE per stream by a premium user than an ad free user.
