Thanks. I couldn't find anything titled "Settings for Early Access Apps" or "Core Data Access Permissions," but I did enable "Early Access Apps" and was told to wait 24 hours, which I guess is a cooling-off period or something, because I can't imagine that could be a caching policy. And as another commenter predicted, searching the admin console for "Bard" turns up no settings.
I think that simply enabling "Early Access Apps" isn't enough. Once you enabled this, you need to add a checkmark to signal that you "Allow users at your organization to access Google Workspace data and services using Early Access Apps".
In my case enabling these two things was nearly instantaneous, it told me it will take a couple of minutes (located in Germany).

Sorry for not providing the direct link to the setting. Even though my domain name was not in the URL, there was a long number in it which might be personalized (albeit with a very low probability of this being the case).

#163I asked it what was the most destructive fire in my city’s history. Bard responded with a fire that happened, but lied about how destructive it was. I corrected it, and it proceeded to make up a fire that never happened. Eventually it brought up a fire that happened, but in a completely different city. I corrected it again, and then it told me that there has never been a fire in my city’s history.
So, in the first 7 messages I exchanged with it every single response it gave was a lie or a hallucination. Not exactly a promising start. If only there was a quick way to look up factual information that didn’t rely on opaque language models

I can understand sign in for ChatGPT to avoid DDOS of their servers by bots, but this is something Google should be able to handle

#167I like the integrated " Search related topics " suggestions. It's not clear when they appear, but they're pretty good suggestions. (Edit: Oh, they appear when you click "Google it", which I must have accidentally done with one answer and not the rest.)
Often, when ChatGPT answers something and it seems dubious, I search for the topic in another tab to confirm it. Here Bard suggests that search itself, exactly when I needed it.

Bot abuse is a huge problem for search engines and similar services. Modern scrapers are virtually impossible to detect and abusing publicly available endpoints for free compute is basically an industry today.
It's a real shame. Means everything goes behind a signup wall.
For reference, about 1% of the traffic I get on my site is probably human (20k quries/day). An attemted 2 million queries/day from confirmed bots.
