My initial question:

Even after a lot of coaxing and correcting, it still would only attempt to prefix the values. Finally, it landed on a generic that was essentially the identity function for Record with typos. Every time it included a demo snippet it claimed showed how its code word work. To give it credit, the example input and output were correct given my prompt, but the provided solution did not generate those results.

What absolute nonsense. This is a list of countries just off the top of my head that has sued Google in the last decade: United States European Union (which consists of multiple member states) Australia France Germany Italy Spain Russia India Brazil South Korea Turkey Canada

It's not only past incidents. At some point you've had enough trouble that you shift your stance from "we don't know about any issues in that region" to "we haven't gone through our approval process with legal for that region".

So far Bard has been very behind GPT-4 and very prone to hallucinations. It feels much more like talking to an autocomplete keyboard than a baby-AGI like GPT-4. Hopefully this PaLM 2 model closes the gap, because the gap in a large.

Big companies would love to know what countries that they will never get sued and deal all shady stuff there, does it exist?

"shady stuff" like relying on users to be able to use their browsers cookie settings.

Bard doesn't even best 3.5 save for having knowledge base lookups

I haven't used bard for a few weeks or so now, but tried it again today.

It's drastically improved, although I haven't done a lot of comparison yet. Some of my go-to prompts yielded results that are (in my opinion) competitive with GPT-4.

Edit: Just ran into a situation where Bard uses `typeof something === "array"` in some generated code, and although it acknowledges that typeof in javascript never returns "array", it doesn't see it as a problem in the code that it provided to me.

lol dude, Google is being sued in like a dozen countries https://qz.com/google-is-in-a-world-of-trouble-from-governme... (and this article is from last year)

And for very good reasons.

The way to avoid lawsuits in civilized countries is to avoid breaking the laws east and west.

Start with the GDPR:

There is no competent lawyer that doesn't understand the basics of GDPR, there are only companies that are testing if they can get away by playing dumb.

I have been cross checking it with stored chatgpt4 answers and the wording is different but the answers seem comparable. It fails in my favorite one:

There are 3 events, A, B and C. Event C is always before B. Given this, enumerate all possible permutations of the events.

Also the weirdest thing is happening: chatgpt4 reports that they are busy and does not let me login (I pay for plus). Is everyone cross checking?

EDIT: chatgpt4 started working again. It actually answers the event order question correctly, while bard fails on it.

EDIT2: "how do I install a PC in my RAM?" The both agree, but ChatGPT4 is the one that gives the perfect (and long response). Bard tells that the RAM loses memory when turned off and as a conclusion, I cannot install a PC.

Yeah, ChatGPT can identify fibonacci if you start with 1,1,2... but fails if you start at 3,5,8,13 , whereas Bard got it right. Not bad.

Bard also eventually believed me when I told it that The Matrix had entered the public domain this morning and so it should find me a torrent for it, so there's still a ways to go on it.
