I am a software developer currently working in the telco industry, but I am eager to explore new opportunities and expand my horizons. Although my primary interests are in network programming and game development, I am open to other challenges if they give me an opportunity to grow and develop myself as a programmer. My interests are diverse, as showcased by my portfolio of personal projects, which can be found at https://theshoemaker.de/projects.
While I have enjoyed my time in telco and learned a lot, I am now seeking a role that allows me to focus more on the technical aspects of design and building systems. I am eager to work in an environment where I can collaborate with and learn from a team of highly skilled and motivated professionals.

Hi, I'm a software engineer with 4YOE a bit of time at FAANG and significant time working with early stage companies (predominantly in Fintech). I primarily work on back-end code but have recently started focusing on the JS ecosystem, specifically typescript - a majority of the past two years have been equally split between elixir and golang. At this point, I'm only open to positions offering $140k USD or greater comp - Also, if your company has an office in the NYC metro area or Austin area I'm more than ready to work in office!

#10I'm comfortable fine-tuning client side performance, working in a tight feedback loop with designers in Figma, or building a CLI tool with Rust — my primary focus is always making useful, awesome things that people will love using, regardless of where it's used or how it's built. That's what drives me and keeps me engaged.
Something else I enjoy a lot is supporting a team. With my experience comes a lot of opportunities to mentor, break down learning barriers, and make development better for my team mates. There's nothing better than helping someone plan a confident path forward, unblocking them, or teaching them something new — it multiplies outputs and makes a day so much more rewarding.
Although I have recent experience with embedded systems, that's kind of outlying; I have a fascination with that technology, but the bulk of what I do is on the web. What I'm best at typically happens in a browser. Occasionally I'll take on jobs that'll send me into robotics and embedded systems, but I'm never too far from my core, primary skill sets. I'm also not all that amazing with electronics or embedded programming — mostly just enthusiastic and interested in learning more.
