Should be noted the source of this information, Good Food Institute Europe, was caught retaliating and spreading a culture of fear among dissenting forces in the organization. [1]

Whether you trust data from an organization that crushes dissent through illegal retaliation is up to you.

Plenty to improve in food production, sure, but the current move towards hyper processed foods is dumb. They can take the animal meat (and eggs, and dairy products) from my cold dead hands..

Relax, no one is really considering meat foods to go away in the next 100 years or so.

It's all about the access to the vegetarian and vegan foods to those who want it, and it happens to become more popular, so market adapts.

But you present it like someone tries to take your food.

> vegan meat products saw a 21 percent increase in unit sales from 2020 to 2022

> During the same period, animal-based meat and milk sales dropped by eight and nine percent, respectively

There are likely additional factors at play in the animal based drop

UK ONS shows whole milk at low of 43p/l in 2020 increasing to 70p/l in Mar 23 and minced beef from 609p/kg to 812p/kg in 23 -- but those numbers likely do not reflect the reality of multi-buy discount offers commonly being available in 2020 that are rarer now in 23 -- so the inflation felt by consumers is potentially even higher

Animal milk outside of not being ethically sourced, could really be a better product if it came lactose free and fortified with Vitamin D by default.

Nothing wrong with lactose, even with intolerance it's just unpleasant not unhealthy.

It would be good if vit d is in many more things but don't understand why it's milks job.

Good grass fed butter has some vitamine d.

But most natural food sources will have limited vit d.
