I think what we're seeing is the effect of no-downvotes. If something comes up which seems "really freeking cool" to a specific 4% demographic (and annoying to 10%), it can get more upvotes than something that seems mildly interesting to 20% of the site.

In person, when there is no algorithm, social norms ARE the algorithm. Maybe that'll work here too, maybe not. Good luck.

Generative AI is creative. You've heard of the 10x engineer. Soon we will have 10x and 100x creators. There will be single person production studios that "direct" or rather creation full movies by themselves. Imagine a Stanley Kubrick being able to unleash his creative vision unrestricted by material constraints? My only hope is that there exists some young folks with the creative minds of a Kubrick or a Wagner to give proper expression to the creative power that's being unleashed.

When it comes to diagnosing disease or something, how is AI alone going to compete with a top physician?

I'm talking about a top physician who is of course a leader at using the AI to leverage his own advanced skills, along with contributing to the enhanced training of the model as they go along in a way where each physician's unique input can leverage each other's.

By bet would be that it would make his work worse. Constraints are almost always what leads to great art. Unconstrained creative vision usually leads to the opposite.
