I'm a devops and software engineer. I have 6 years experience working client site with client developers to successfully deliver various web and infrastructure projects. I enjoy trying to simplify or automate problems. In my spare time I work on programming language implementation, compilers and database internals. I wrote my own SQL database. I enjoy distributed systems. I work on multithreaded server software, I am interested trying to create performant, fast, scalable and easy to maintain computer systems. I try write lockfree algorithms and highly concurrent systems. I implemented multiversion concurrency control.

Summary: I love working on products and features that grow the pie for everyone, leading to win-win situations. Over the ten+ years of my career, I've found that my passion lies more and more with leadership, working to ensure that a team of engineers can be the best that they can be. My work has been full-stack with a focus on backend, though focused on iOS with the frontend.

As a polyglot backend engineer with over a decade of experience, I have honed my skills in small to mid-sized startup environments. I thrive on self-motivation and excel at turning loosely defined ideas or problems into solid requirements, delivering code that fully addresses the challenge at hand. From initial planning to deployment, I relish the opportunity to work on development projects at every stage.

My background encompasses both microservices and monoliths, and I have extensive experience in infrastructure provisioning via code and building CI/CD pipelines. As a well-rounded engineer, I am fully capable of contributing to all aspects of the technology stack.

I am looking for full time individual contributor positions. I do not mind leading features, mentoring juniors, etc., but I want to ensure I am also able to code as part of my day to day.
