#3The thing I don't get about it is that not all UK public services are like this. I know as a fact that senior programmers with the NHS make 70-80k. A project lead can get close to 100k. No idea what the Treasury is thinking here.

Even for a government role I would expect 2.5-3x the salary.

It would be interesting to see what the pension is like for this position - you're giving up lifetime earnings for retirement earnings (and "serving your country").

I'm sure at least 30 out of the 31 are woefully under-qualified. Even for a government role I would expect 2.5-3x the salary.
